Has anyone used this company before. They have a shop on ebay, i have looked them up and the general consensus is they are pretty good. I know there is one guy one here that says he lives near them and says their machine work is good.

Just looking for some opinions. I woke up to chocolate milk on my dipstick so i am looking for places to get quality heads.

THanks

Are they new heads or rebuilt?

I know a couple places around here that do really good work repairing heads.

We tried dealing with some place over the internet on a rebuilt head, if the bubblegum welds were not holding coolant the cracks they missed didn't either. They couldn't ship a head so the guides didn't get pounded farther into the head either. The first one would hydrolock the engine overnight, the second smoked white. After #3 with blantant cracks that were not fixed got nixed on the bench we increased the money from $600 to $900 and went to another place. Some numnut ground one chamber many moons ago to fit a propane piston in a gas engine out past the fire ring so we didn't have anything to even try to fix. I would 10x rather deal with someone face to face.

What are the names of the places you know. Dealing locally is preferred, but i dont know of any places that do good work.

Well I got my heads back from the machine shop. One has a massive crack that spans almost the whole head from left to right, and the other is warped. I have tried contacting J and C about the rebuilt heads and they said all of the Ford heads cracked easily.

Just wondering if anyone has had any expierence with their new casting heads?

hey twister i bought j c 2.9 heads from them i got thier new aftermarket heads with the new valves and susposably springs i got them in oct 09 the only problem i had was the rocker mount wasent taped right i did not find this out till i got the heads all bolted it up i called j c they said send it back they will fix but they were not paying for anything else so i had them fix them and just this summer i redid my motor again so i took the heads to the shop the said they were ok just decked them and cleaned them up a little oh the springs were not new liked they claimed so before i bolt the heads up i put the rocker shafts on and wouldent you know it every hole had to b retaped with thread inserts so the bottom line is they r ok but just check the threads befor bolting them up .

Do you think that was just a one time thing?

I have a set of CJ heads on my 1996 3.0 ranger. I had no problems with then in 2 years of use. The price is what drove me to try them.
In fact I am now working on a second project. A 1995 Saturn SW2 for my son. It had a burnt exust valve in cylinder # 3 once again price drove me to get the remanfuctured head from CJ and no core charge too.
My experance with CJ so far has been a postive one. I can not say the same for ECM remanfactures I have found on line. But thats another story.

Regards
Chris M.

twister its just like chris m say its the price that was good like i said they r good heads i just got a bad set with the threads for the rocker shafts so if u buy them just put your rocker shafts on and torque to spec to make sure the threads r good thats the only problem i had oyher than that no problems i would buy again
