for 15 years and never once did I wreck it or even get a dent in it... until today.

I was re-wiring my 4 wheeler trailer lights and needed more room to get out of the rain. My 85 was on ramps, right in front of my trailer, and need to be moved. Fired her up, started backing off of the ramps, and caught the carport post. I thought I had clearance but apparently not. :bawling::bawling:

I could just puke.:icon_rofl:

Oh man.

We've all done it, welcome to the club.

How bad is it?

I'll need a new door for sure, probably replace the fender too. And the mounts, peeled those little jewels back too.

Good thing I know a really good fabricator.:icon_welder:

Saturday I towed the dang thing 150 miles, with my '01 Ranger, and never had a problem. Everything went perfect.

Guess what? my truck was in its first accident after 26 years! and it was with me, due to brake failure....

pics of damage?

Damn, dude, you caught the door? Well, you did it right...

Yeah, I'd feel like puking too.

When I moved to Fairmont, I towed my 2001 Lexus RX300 - then about a year old - behind the bobtail moving truck on a flatbed trailer.

I pulled the truck up beside the house and went to back the Lexus off the trailer. Only one detail: forgot to extend the ramps. WHAM!

No serious damage, fortunately, but man, was that a sick feeling.

I'll get some pics this evening. Didn't feel like looking at it yesterday. I just finished wiring up the trailer lights, pulled them both back into the car port and went in the house. :icon_rofl:

Yup. I was far enough from the post that it only bent it straight out... maybe a little more than perpendicular to the rest of the body. The post caught, maybe, the last 1/2 or so of the door and just hung on.

I probably could have stopped before it got too bad but I was in shock looking at what was happening. :icon_rofl:

Now that I've slept on it... and punished my liver, I find it hilarious.

Yes... the local JY has a complete 86 Ranger and it's blue. I can get the door for $125 and they'll pull it for me. :yahoo:

Might see if they'll let me get everything else I need for a reduced price, if I buy it all at once.

Sorry about that man. That really sux.

Anyway....

:worthless:

The end of Ranger was already broken off... thanks dad.

Well, like I said: when you do it, you do it right.

To add insult to injury, so to speak, I rolled my creeper under the truck to see what that looked like and stirred up a wasp nest that made the 150 mile trip to my house. Not cool... not at all.

just the door is damged? that can be replaced by removing 4 bolts. vent windows aint to good imo either

You okay, man?

Just stay in the house for a few days until this all blows over...
