hey guys need a little help. Got my 85 2.8 back up and running. After a terrible slung rod athrough the block. Got new block, redid the heads (again) and had a buddy port my heads and intake. Got an issue now and just need to get opinions. So I got the truck running and took it for a drive to the car wash, no more than 10 miles round trip. Issue I have now is there's coolant in the oil. I'm thinking either head gasket or intake gaskets are to blame. The truck runs fine just over heats a bit. Ill be getting it pulled apart tomorrow and have new head gaskets just incase. Any ideas?:icon_confused:

Sounds like a gasket problem or somethng wasn't tightened to specs. Sounds like intake gaskets to me.

I would also assume that a gasket wasn't torqued properly. Sorry man, I would stop driving it right away and check that out. No one likes doing a rebuild twice!

Thanks guys. Thats what it seems to me too. And ive only driven the truck once since its been back together. Its been sitting for the past few days til I got the time to look at it. Goin to take it apart today and ill let you guys know the outcome. thanks.

Alright guys, update is she is fixed. Replaced the intake gaskets and all is well. Hopefully I caught this problem early enough to keep from future damamge. Goin to do another oil change soon to make sure i got all of the coolant out but as of now all it well.

Glad we could help get her back on the road.

Indeed. I had an idea of what i thought just glad to know that other people had the same opinion as me. Thanks guys.
