That is very nice looking. what did you use for paint and prep?

AJ

paint

I started off doing a hanger flip then after taking them off and wiping the surface with paint thinner, the finished wiped right off down to bare metal, the frame as it turns out is dipped in some type of wax so I just started wiping down the frame, and sanded and wire brushed any rust I could find then used metal prep and shot the areas that had rust removed with rustolem rust converter, even though I took it to clean metal, there are always pits and stuff that may have some rust, the rest was shot with rustolem red oxide and a green top coat that is very close to the green color of the truck, now that Iam this far Iam thinking about doing the rear end houseing, I have new shocks, traction bars and sway bar set up, past the cab the wax based paint is in good shape so Iam not doing any thing past the cab

It's so clean you could eat off of it.

I hate to ask but, since I've never seen one, what is that at the back? Looks like some sort of spare tire hanger but I haven't seen anything later than a 96...

Mark, you are right on the money. that is the newer style tire carrier. I believe it is on all 98+ style Rangers. it has a cable system to lower the tire instead of the bolt/ latch and swivel and muscle the tire out.

Looks good to me . nice green too.

Thanks AJ...I'd heard about them but have yet to meet one...the guy I bought the 96 from said his dad had one on his F-150 and it kept jamming...but I didn't get a look at that one...imagine it is similar.

That's too nice n clean to get dirty...gonna just leave it in the garage for show?
