Whats up everyone havent been here in awhile. Life and kids have been keepin me busy. Im lookin at buyin a 98 b3000 4x4 extended cab anything i should look out for?

Rusty frame, rusty core support, Does it actually have a floor in the cab?

Otherwise take it for a drive. If it drives well and shifts ok well... You are familiar with RBVs. You will have to decide if you want to take the plunge.

Ya im very familiar with em. Jus not this new. Im gonna check it out today.

take it to napa or somewhere and have them run a scan on it if you dont have a scanner.

Shackles...they tend to rot out the rear spring hangers...I found a 97 that looked good till I crawled under it...pass side was broken and driver side was just about done...not hard to do or expensive, but it might be a good indication of the rest of the under carriage...

Why? If a scanner will find anything the light will be on.

adsm i know ppl that unhook the light or take the bulb out so thats why i said that, I'm a little smarter than I may look but not by much haha

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaha.......the old burned out/missing bulb story......good eye 509!

I've seen that whole check engine light bulb removal BS before, actually they didn't even remove the bulb, they took the instrument cluster out and put a piece of electrical tape over the light. All that was wrong when I got the truck was the O2 sensor and a couple vacuum lines, this was on a Nissan D21 4x4, but all the same, people will do all sorts of stuff to try and cover up things that's wrong with a vehicle they're trying to sell.

that they do thats why if its gonna be a dd i check every little thing and even run compression checks and if I think something is up I ask the determining question "can i take it to a shop to be looked at" and if they say yea that usually means they are being truthfull and if they say no, they can say bye bye to the stack of cash i had to pay for it

It is possible to have codes in memory and not be throwing a cel, I scanned one last week that was doing it.
