I didn't realize it'd been so long since I've been on here. All my old posts are gone by now but anyways Hi!
I came here back when my dad's ranger was having electrical issues, but no one could seem to figure out what was wrong. (It was just a rotted ground wire)
It's a 94 4 cylinder 5-speed that he purchased new off the lot back in 93. It now has over 400k miles on the original engine. The trans was replaced around 280k, because it ran dry on fluids, and burnt up. Other then small repairs and maintenance the truck has been indestructible. The engine has never been touched.
I know it's just an old basic ranger that is not worth fixing up but it's that sentimental value that counts. I could go out, buy any mint ranger, and be far ahead but I don't want to do that.
I originally considered bagging, but to be honest, I think a static but performance minded drop, and a small block would be a better fit that he'd be proud of seeing. The interior is VERY well worn and the body has seen it's share of abuse but I'm sure it'll all come together.
I just don't want to seem like another one of those everyday guys that come on here with big dreams, and never follow through. This truck means a lot to me. He bought it when I was little, and here I am about to be 23... I can't watch the truck just be hauled off or sold.. it's not worth any amount of money... and to me it's priceless.
