i havent posted much lately or even in the last year. But i have been working on a little project. I have been doing a motor swap in my 91. i was given a free motor and trans about a year ago, so i decided i would go ahead and get rid of my 2.3L. The motor i was given was a small block Chevrolet 305 from a 1986 Monte Carlo. it is the HO 305, however I'm aware it still isnt much, this motor was only used as a mock up for the 350 I'm building. And yes I'm aware that I put a Chevy in a Ford and most of you frown upon that, i dont much care tho, I did it for fun and to say that I did it, and to have fun customizing and fabricating. The 305 is mated to a 5-speed from an S-10. Which makes it very fun to drive. I have posted pics and they are in no particular order. Any questions feel free to ask

The 97 shortbox bed doesn't look too bad! I'm surprised how well it goes with your truck (in these pics at least)

Good luck with your build. It looks good so far.

Thanks guys. As for the hood I found it on Craigslist for 40 bucks, its a fiberglass 3 inch cowl that bolted to my factory hinges. Had the nuts fiberglassed into them.

And the 97 box works great, the bodylines don't line up but its not an eyesore or anything. I don't like that its fiberglass tho, its too light. I'll try to post more pics tonight

Anyone have a steel bed from the 84-92 body style for sale?

Hood looks good....betcha got mo' power now!!!!

I have to say the step side doesnt look bad at all, and since it doesnt meet up with the cab, it doesnt matter with body lines.

Well............

Let see some side shots to see the Gen 3 bed on the Gen 2.

What did you do for motor mount towers & mounts?

heres the bed, the pics are about 4 years old. ive done some body work and painted the truck since then.

and heres the mounts. simple. two peices of angle iron bolted together to form a "c". half of the "C" bolts to the engine block and the other half is welded to the engine bay crossmember. undo the two bolts that hold the "C" together and the engine removes.

only trouble im having is finding a way to do the power steering as the stock chevy bracket sit too low and the steering box is in the way.

and yes, there is alot more power versus my 2.3L. I can actually break my posi loose on my 8.8

and this is how close my electric fan is to my water pump

I had to modify the core support to fit this Howe Racing radiator

================================
I made a bracket when I had PS, but have since gone to MS, more header room, and I grew up on MS vehicles.
