Went out this morning to clean up around the ranger and put some things away, and sayed to my self what the heck. So I hooked all the wires and lines back up,and tuned the key and there was that squeek that turned out to be the chevy alternator bracket that I used rubing the alternator fan. I guess I shoud of remembered chevy in chevy, ford in ford. Any way, I found the right ford part to mod. and use,and no more squeek. After cranking abit it started right up. Still have a few bugs to work out. Thanks alot for info that I have found here.

Knot jumping for joy yet . Kind of chug along and loses power when it warmes up. Disteributor will not turn in manifold Just finished rewireing so the computer would go back behind pass kick panal.

Yesterday I started it up and was checking things out under the hood when I herd a strang sound comeing from the fuel reg. ,kind of sounded like a faulset turned part on then I checked the two round plugs to the injector harnes. One was a little lose so I fixed that. It was like insant power. Now it boges when it warms up. Cood it be the egr ?Any ideas?

Finially got the distributor free, and adjusted the timing , problem solved
