Just wanna be sure I get the right part. They are from rock auto, the part numbers are: XK8546 and XK8563. They are a closeout sale, $5 each.

And does anyone know if Harbour freight ships to Canada? It didn't give me the option when I was looking at the ball joint tool, so I suspect not. Is there an equivalent place that will ship to Canada that I can get the tool from?

Edit: I was just reading the tech library, and it says the D28 can sometimes be found in 93-97 rangers with the 3.0L. I thought I had the D35, but now I'm not sure. Is there any way to tell from the outside if it has D28 internals or not? Or does it even matter for the case of the ball joints?

Doesn't matter for the balljoints....d35 and the d35/28 hybrid is the same from the inner shafts out.

Princess auto is the Canadian equivalent to harbor freight. Harbor freight doesn't ship to Canada.

Yea I checked there, same tool is $120. Maybe I would be better off just removing everything myself, and taking the steering knuckle to a shop to have them press in and out the new ones, then re assemble. For $5 a ball joint, I really don't think I can go wrong

You can pound them out with a hammer and big drift and can reinstall them in the same method using some chunks of pipe that fits snugly around the collar of the balljoint.

the autovalue in watrous will probably lend you the tools if you buy the parts from them, or try one of the 3 locations of parts source in saskatoon, they do tool lending, you just have to leave a deposit of the value of the tool (credit card cash or debit and you get it back when you return the tool) i would even go in and be like i bought the part from you guys a week ago, my buddy was supposed to have the proper tool, but he's got the pickling fork, he thought it was a different style balljoint, can i borrow yours?

good chance they don't care and hand it over to you
