Is this the fuel pump?

Glad to hear the good news. I however have something to say about the vertical canister between the front and rear pumps:

On my 1986 BII 2.9L, that canister actually did house a fuel filter. The inlet side of the filter was reddish in color thanks to the rusty fuel pump and weighed about three times what the new filter did.

I had no problems whatsoever with mine during uninstall or reinstall. No leaks, no pains in the butt...just screw off, replace filter, and screw on.

Voodoochylde your right, Some of the Rangers did come with an optional accumulator/filter setup. The optional accumulator/filter setup looks identical to the standard accumulator setup and even mounts in the same spot. I still dont now why they would have the two diferent type setups and I am not positive what years and types of rangers got what setup. Does any body now?

Well, the fuel delivery is 100% now so i ain't gonna mess with anything...but, in the toolbox of the truck there was a cartridge filter which looks like it would fit inside that canister before the in line pump. Anyway, pulled it out of the hole it was in, the limited slip works haha, had to put it in 4x4 to get it out. Dropped it in 4 low and cruised right out. The ranger sits ALOT higher now, it was sunk 6 inches! My fan for heat does not blow so I am assuming blower motor?

Not blowing at all? It could be clogged with leaves or something. I'd check fuses and things 1st.

I turn it on and it puts a load on the engine and the rpms drop. But nothing is coming out of the vents. I don't have ac just heat. Is it easy to pull and clean up? It has been sitting under a tree for 7 years.

I replaced the blower motor, mine was seized and so brittle it fell apart. The new fan blows great and the heat is nice and toasty, actually so hot on low fan when it is 30* out I opened the window a crack haha. I was driving it around learning to drive stick and all I smelled was asbestos, figuring it was the clutch but it was real bad and I knew I was not riding it hard. The driver front caliper was seized which explains the pulling and stalling all the time because it was holding me back. I ordered new calipers and they came in today, put them on, bled the system and now the brake system is great! I was driving around all morning and boy does the 2.9 have loads of power!! I have an issue electronic wise though. When i got the truck, the radio did not work. Changed the fuse and now it works great. BUT, every time I turn the headlights on the radio kills and resets to like 680 FM or whatever the first station was. Why does it glitch like that? Is there like a regulator on these trucks?
