The 7.5 can be forced into a Ranger but the perches are a different width.

Personally wouldn't even offer... I got a 31 spline 8.8 for $100 with 3.73 gears, disc brakes and L/S for $100. 4.10's are fairly common in them as well.

Paying hard earned money to keep the same weak front axle doesn't appeal to me much either.

It would be a "hey thats kinda neat" if it came with them... I don't see them as much of an upgrade though.

I thought the perches were the same?

Ya I hear what your saying maybe im just desperate to have 4wd finally...
but maybe ill go at him with the "there the same weight for scrap" approach and not let him know its a rare ratio (hes an immigrant who barely speaks english) maybe tell him its only because I need a matching ratio...
