alright, my buddy traded his ranger for this 250. dumb idea..IMHO.

so what im wondering... has anyone ever took a 250 to runner status?
i mean, the thing is huge, but i think it could be done..:icon_surprised:

it might take alott of work though:icon_welder:

heres the rundown on this semi...

89 Ford F-250, 4x4 1ton rear leafs for towing
Rebuilt 351w with 40,000 strong runner, 4 spd tranny with a granny
body in really good shape for the year, newer paint done a few years back
built front bumper, bed liner, new carpet, everything works....

:annoyed::shok::dunno:

thats my feelings right now. haha

but can it be done?

and i dont mean long travel high dollar rig prerunner..

basicly just a good looking truck that can go out and handle the whoops, kinda well.

on this truck, the motor is a beast, im thinking C6 for ease of driving, cage, maybe if anybody makes fiberglass for this fattt old lady?
i dunno..

help us out!

Well I had something written up and then my browser went back by accident and it got all erased. Too tired to re-think sorry bro, I'll remember it later though haha.

front dual shocks- rancho 9000s or something like that, i think f250s came with a dual option
f150 rear springs- should bolt in, ride smooth, pick em up cheap used, ditch lift blocks if it has them
rear shocks- 9000s or what ever
front glass- f150 glass is the same
big tires- 35s would be great
prerunner bumpers- gotta make it look like a prerunner

there you go, cheap cheap cheap and should ride pretty damn good in the semi rough. look good too!

Sub the Rancho's with Bilstein's, extended radius arms, longer shackle or shackle flip.

Kinda limited though cause the front is on leafs not coils, so I would maybe suggest some of those johnny joint style shackles so the spring doesn't bind as it cycles. Or if you really want try converting to coil springs or coil-overs.

. sadly, there is not much for the f250 4x4 dam near nothing.but being a reg cab is a dcent platform over all if you were to go all out.

if you notice the beams dam near piviot in the middle. So you end up wiht 2 "short beams" to put it simple. Then the leaf springs dont help. They just dont travel in the same arc, bushing bind, leaf sping snapping etc. just c'ant be helped......what was ford thinking?a hauler

autofab workd out some stuff for the f250 ,http://bajaf250.com/ this web pages only likes IE browser.really.

Geoff at giant has dont some "plus" over beams for the f250 set up of or coil overs...$$$$ no matter how you look at it.

if you wanted to do "junk yard" style as much as I hate to say this a straight axle set up with some good leafs up front.might be cheaper way.depending on how resorcefull you are vs fab work etc. ????????

I just like to think of the bang for the buck, and resale value all in one.

and rancho shocks SUCK! but they arent going to make or break this truck, sorry to say.

...question...

what would this POS be like?

do these have I beams?

i think it wouldnt be that bad of a prerunner...

i'd stick with a ranger. that pos could be a bad ass prerunner if you wanted to dump some major cash into it. f150s need bigger/more shocks, stronger parts and bigger motors. it adds up fast

ti would be better than the f250 to build into what you want but still not as cheap as the ranger. personally id get that f150 and a ranger, then put the f150 stuff on the front of the ranger and a set of bilsteins, then in the rear just pull the overload spring (if there is on) and try some different cheap rear shocks to see what one works the best of road
