I was going to have this installed, on my birthday (the big 18).

Does it seam like a good deal? It looks space-saving, and it would go behind my seat in the extended cab.

Or, would another route be about the same cost?

I would go a different route...nothin against JL and that sub is a decent sub but theres better out there....whats your budget and how much space r u willing to give up for a system?

that's a nice little set up, id rock it, and its a good price. and i dont know how much better your going to get with out starting to disk out the $$$. JL put of good stuff and as long as you treat it right that sub will last a while.

thats alot of cash for basic gear , unless you must have a jl logo, because thats what youd be paying for

I don't really care about brands, as long as it's a quality product, and, I can't really go over $300, and, I can really only go to car toys, it's the closest place, and 45minutes away at that.

So, I got a regular box an a amp, were would they put the amp?

you can mount the amp any were, if you like the amp on the back of the box idea you can do that with any amp. and i dont really think its that much money, and JL makes good quality stuff.

If it did blow, could I just replace it with any 10" sub, but, what if the amp broke.

It would be MORE expensive in the end.

i dont think thats a powered sub, i read over it, and the amp and the sub are two differnent parts, they just come pre mated, i can do that with any sub/amp combo. and sell it to you. and like i said JL's are nice, unless you do something stupid you wont blow it. also price wise, think of it as 150 for the sub/box. and 150 for a 250rmsw amp and try and price match

well, of the subs they list, on the site stay away from duel. people fight about MTX and RF but i would stay away from them, JL JBL, and alpine are there better names, poineer is a good cheep sub,

of the loaded boxes stay away from duel, bozooka can be hit or miss and the RF issues


amps use the advise from above, with exception of kenwood, there old school stuff used to rock but i havent used them in a long time, so i cant tell you,

when your matching parts make sure to match your ohms, and rms watts,

max watts are like lesbians, fun to look at but useless when it come to anything important

If i were you i wouldnt get that setup...like i said b4 JL is an ok companys but u can get more bang for your $300....and i dont think that setup comes with the wiring you would need so u would end up spending more....i would build your own box....go on over to Caraudioforums.com and look around on there....theres alot of Ranger owners that mite hook you up on some plans for a box. also check on your local Craigslist good deals are always on there.

spend enuff money to do it right the first time. $20 for a better quality sub is better then, another $60 for when the first one blows, and


dont buy used drivers!!!! if some one give yous drivers for free rock them, but dont pay for them.

and JL is one company not two.

I don't want to ask much, but could someone go to cartoys.com and build me a sub system. Like, pick the best stuff for the money.
