I posted this in General Discussions but didn't get much response. Thought I'd try my luck here.
The vehicle is a 1999 Mazda B3000, 4 door, Auto, 2WD, 170k miles.
Asking price is $3,950.

I know it's not an amazing deal, because of the age of the vehicle and the mileage. But what do you think?

A little much I think personally. I got my 99 ranger 3.0L 4x4 for 5 in awesome condition with half the miles for a grand more. I'd say its worth about 3,000 tops. (hard to tell without a picture though

that is way to much I just did a quick search on CL inmy area and found this. it was 2 days old and it did sell for $3,700. http://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/cto/2000187036.html.........look on CL and you will get a better deal

the link was not working here is the add. it had pics it was nice

I am selling my Mazda B2500 pickup with only 25,000 original miles. It was a grandfather's truck. It's got a five speed manual transmission, extended cab with 1/2 doors, jump seats, A/C, Cd/iPod Player, Duraliner bed w/ HIDE-A-HOOKS,I also have the original tape deck that came with the truck. Great truck and a fun ride! $4,000 or best offer. For further details call (781) 727-6462

plus the 3.0 is the least desirable engine and the auto trannys in the 99 kind of suck

the best thing to do is look on craigslist for other trucks that are as close as possible to it and check their prices. the only problem with asking people on here is every area has different demand for different vehicles so a great deal where you live may be a crappy deal where i live. that being said i'd say where i live thats a little high but not too far off

I have no real experience with the 3.0 but I have heard nothing but good things about it and how durable it is and how they run forever.

I don't live all that far from you. And I agree, it's on the high side but that's to be expected since it's at a dealer not a private seller.
The thing is that there was a time when Rangers could be had for a dime a dozen. Now people don't sell them, they keep them until they run them into the ground. So the only real way to get a great deal (at least in SoCal) is by word of mouth.

so cal is the worst for rangers, even first gens run about 2 grand or more for a decent running one. you CAN get a pile for under a g but its gonna need some work for sure

what's wrong with the auto trans? a friend of mine had a 3.0 with auto and it seemed fine. is it just because of power? i'm not looking for a race car or a tow rig.
why was it said that the '99 autos suck? i thought they were pretty much the same across all years.
