I have a BW 1354 from a 1998 Ranger electric with identification number 13-54-000-022. It split like a pumpkin and cannot be rebuilt. I found another one on craigslist from a 2002 Ranger electric with identification number 13-54-000-037. Can we swap these transfer cases?

Yes it will be a direct bolt in swap.

Ive got a 99 4.0 with electric shift that im sas and want to put a manual t-case in it. Can i just use a manual 1354 t-case from an older ranger as a direct swap for my electric 1354?

Yes, any manual or electric shift t-case from a Ranger/Bronco II/Explorer from 1983-2009 are interchangeable. They will bolt right up.

There is a difference in the driveshafts (front) between the 1350 and the 1354. but as long as you are aware of it before hand it's not an issue.

The only case that won't work is the autotrac case from the AWD mountaineers with the V-8.

They certainly bolt in, but I'm not so sure about the ELECTRICAL connections. There are quite a number of them for the electrical cases.

Thanks for the info. The drive shaft from my 1354 will work on a manual 1354 though right? Its only if you go from a 1350 to a 1354? Also for the electrical part, my dash already looks like a christmas tree so if not hooking up the light for the 4 wheel drive is all that would be affected it wont bother me.

As long as your putting in a manual case then yes. If you were to say put a 1354 elec shift from a 2009 into a 1992 explorer the electrical connections would not match up.

But once again, as long as your swapping in a manual case it will bolt right up. You should also be able to make the 4x4 lights work by tracing some wires.

I believe the newer IFS trucks use a CV front shaft and this makes the front output different. It uses a cup of sorts instead of the yoke the older cases (TTB front axle) came with. I would think that the front output spline would be the same so the cup and yoke would be interchangable.

Right on the money. 98+ Ranger 4x4s use a CV style front driveshaft that doesn't utilize ujoints at the tcase output.

Thanks. I really appreciate all the help. When I get done with everything maybe i will post my build with the manual t-case installed. Thanks again.

Found a t-case on craigslist. Guys got a borg warner 1350 manual t-case out of a 1988 bronco 2 for $50. Its got 70,000 miles on it. Good price? By the way I got to thinking Im not to worried about changing the driveshafts cause Im solid axle swapping the truck anyways. Thanks
