Is the 4.0 clutch swap worth it?

Definitely will check them out when I get the money and the capability to do a clutch job. Seems ok right now, then again I don't drive it much, and I can't tow anything with it anyhow.

Weird, part numbers for the 2.8L and 2.9L clutches are the same. So you guys are changing other items as well to bolt up the 4.0 clutches then.

Not that I care, when the clutch goes in the B2 the B2 is going as well.

Good question apparently there's a bunch of people throwing ideas out but none have actually done the swap to know the sizes. I would venture a guess that they would be the same since they are saying the 4.0 bolts on.

Yeah, but I can't get bolts if I don't know what supposed to be there. My donor transmission was without the clutch and flywheel.

There was no hardware to be had from the donor and the original was an auto...

Hope so because the part numbers are exactly the same for both kits, so I was like ok, so if you can't do it on the 2.8L then someone must be bluffing on the 2.9L then because they're the same parts. .

What's the big differences? I've been told that its mostly just a difference between the 2.8L being carbureted and timing gears, and the 2.9L being fuel injected and timing chain? I mean there's going to be slight differences in piston sizes and bores due to being a bit larger in liter size but what else am I missing?

So, if it was an 88...I would assume (that's a mistake I've learned when working on cars) that the hardware would be what would work for the 88?

With all the stuff these guys have done on here someone will be along that knows.
