Camo Ranger
Active Member
Hey everyone, just wanted to say hi from Southeastern MA. A little about me is that I'm 20 years old and am currently a junior in college. Before I bought my ranger I had a 98, 2X4 toyota tacoma. The toyota was my dad's idea even though he drives an F-250. He had a tacoma 4X4 when he was younger but had to sell it when I was born. He loved that truck and I think he was hoping I would love mine just as much. Well he was wrong....
Best part about that truck was when the frame rotted out on it and was recalled by toyota. I paid $6,200 for the truck initially, drove it around for 2 and a half years and then gave it back to toyota for $9,000. Took 6k from that and went and bought my ranger. The rest went in the bank account.
I've had my ranger since september, 2008 and I've never been happier. The first thing I did to it was add the camo wraps that my mom had bought for me for christmas years ago. So now I have a two-tone black/new mossy oak ranger. As far as performance I have a Jet performance programmer and a K&N Cold Air Intake. I've also added a Curt Class III hitch and a Rustoleum paint-on bedliner. The only other work I've done is a passenger-side, upper ball joint (pain in the ass) and routine maintenace.
I'd love to lift my truck some day and swap in a 302 or 351W with some one-ton axles, but that requires both time and money, neither of which I have. Also, since my truck is my daily driver, I'd need another vehicle while working on the modifications.
Anyway, I think this site is great with a ton of information. I'll be sure to keep reffering to it for any future questions that I have. Thanks TRS.
