I have been chasing this rough idol and smoke coming from the tailpipe problem for several weeks now and after running the codes that showed the EGR valve was causing my problem that turned out to be a clogged intake port. I fixed that but still had smoke and fumes. I also changed the AIC. I disconnected the o-sensor. This stopped the smoke and the idol is noticable better. I still have fumes. Truck runs good with plenty of power. My only concern is, Is it bad to run this way? Can it cause damage to something else? This is a new o-sensor. One of several things I have recently changed in my quest to figure this thing out. :icon_confused:

check the fusible link that feeds the o2 sensor, along with all of it's wiring and connections. Running with the o2 sensor unplugged will give you a slight power loss over a properly running engine, as well as reduced fuel mileage. I had experienced an issue like this when my TFI module was going, it could be your issue but it could be a shot in the dark as well. Run the KOER test (instructions in the tech library) and see if you get anything useful.

Thanks buddy. I'll check into it first chance I get and report back what I find.
