90% of the time i'm on here its on my cell phone. personally i think the forums are already incredibly smart phone friendly.

Could be cool to get some kind of text message system going for subscribed threads and PMs. Something sort of like Facebook does it where if you get a notification it sends you a text with it. Of course this would require alot of work, but would be a bit handy. I myself dont have a smartphone so the apps you guys are talking about ive never even heard of

this is very simple to do without a fancy app. I have it set up by subscribing to a thread, set the notification type to instant notification. then i registered the email account used here on trs on my cell phone. any time someone posts on the threads i keep up on my phone rings. I've got a bookmark straight to my usercp to view all my subscriptions instantaneously.

I have a Samsung Captivate, the AT&T Galaxy X.

hell, i wont pay the extra $30.00 per month for cell phone internet access. i have a keyboard cellphone for texting, but i dont even mess with my facepage all that much, if its nice out, im hardly even online at home at all. when i do have the time, i'll just log on from my living room. for the most part, my phone isnt even on unless im needing to make a call or out on the road. its nice to turn things off on occasion.

Agreed. I read almost exclusively from my phone now. Browser works just fine. Same thing with the subscribed threads. Learn to use the available features to tailor to your specific wants. Everything goes thru email which is instant on smartphones. PMs work same way. I'm never more than two taps away from checking up on the latest "cheapest lift" thread.

Will be getting the Moto Xoom tablet soon and cant wait!

fun fact..... the android phones are cheap looking, all due respect... i had a moto droidx and i had sooo many problems with it! my iphone 4 is the best damn phone ive ever had. granted i have the good ole otterbot defender case but still awsome phone... that being said id pay 2 bucks for the app and you android guys get it for free...? the app would be diffrent if it were free? idk but i definatly want one and i like the txt forum replys idea!

i have the droid incredible, by far best phone i have ever owned, and i have it jail broken so i can fully access the capabilites of the os it is amazing what you can do.

yeah i have lost all faith in windows anything, last two windows mobile phones i have had were piles of shit, idk about the new windows phone 7 but iv read it was poorly made, microsoft blames the problems on third party software.

on any internet capable phone you don't need an app. set up your phone to ring when you get emails, then set up instant notifications for thread subscriptions and private messages here on trs and you're done. if you get a message or a new post in a thread you are subscribed to, your phone will ring. beyond that, i have a bookmark straight to my usercp. what do you need an app for if you have an internet capable phone?

if you have a phone with a shoddy browser, like your iphone, perhaps its a little difficult. on the Samsung Captivate its just as easy if not easier than using a computer.
