Hey, just got around to joining this site though I've been accessing the great info here for years now. I've acquired some hand's-on experience with this project of mine, with busted knuckles, wrinkles, gray hair and pissed-off wife to prove it.

What started out as a replacement for my 98 Ranger daily driver/hauler, turned into a FUN street/strip sleeper that has caused me to ignore my 82 GT project for over 3 years now!

So looking forward to learning more and sharing too. God Bless the USA and Henry Ford!

Welcome, I like the hood scoop on your Ranger.

It's the factory scoop off the 82 GT. It fits perfectly. Was going to make functional, but instead ran intake to the front behind the grill.

The 82 Mustang GT hood scoop looks great on many cars and trucks. I put one on a 78 Mach 1 my sister had in the 80s. My Dad had one on has 71 Bronco, 89 Ranger and now his 79 F150. I don't think the 82 GT scoop would look good on my 97 Ranger because the hood and front of the truck are rounded. I think a 83 Mustang GT scoop may look good on my 1997. They are harder to find because they were a one year only scoop. The 82 type was used from 79/82 and even came on non GT Mustangs, making the scoop easier to find.
The picture you posted of your Ranger looks like you went off the road into a ditch. Are you going to post some more picture of your Ranger ?

Yep, lost control and went off the road thank God, or I would have slid through the stop sign into traffic! For a mild V8 the little truck is pretty quick. This little incident pushed me to swap on 1995-97 Beams and get the better two-piston brakes, and 17x9 wheels with Conti ProContacts... what an amazing improvement in braking and handling!!!

And no, I'm not doing a 4x4 "Ditch Handler" conversion! :D
