I have a 1993 Ford Ranger 4.0 Liter V6 Manual Transmission with 187k miles. I have a intermittent rattle that just started the other day, sound seems to be coming more from around the tranny\catalytic converter area. Any Ideas as to what this could be?

Thank you that was it! so glad iz an ez fix

I plowed my 94 Explorer through a snow bank and have the same sound. From "working" under cars at a quick lube, I would vote 150% that it is some heat shield.
