My mother in laws ranger is a 2000 ranger 3.0 auto. it goes into 4wd and the light on the dash comes on, and the 4wd works, then randomly, the 4wd =just stops working. the light's still on the dash 4hi. U turn the switch to 2wd then back to 4hi, and it works until it randomly cuts out again. Sound like the transfer case motor? I am getting trouble codes b1302 and b1352 from the GEM module. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

Well the trouble codes shouldn't have anything to do with the 4x4 system. If you can time it the 4x4 should stay in 4x4 for up to 45 seconds while the vacuum relay trys to lock the hubs and then disengauge. Or atleast thats what it sounds like to me. The Hubs are not locking in. Unless you have the live front axles.

no he doesnt have the live front he probably has pvh which i would deffinately swap out for explorer hubs and cv axles its simple to swap out i did it with hand tools no air help for this boy. you wont have to worry about the 4x4 not working
