Thought I'd introduce my self, my name is Wade I'm 44 yrs. old, divorced with custody of my kids, my oldest is my daughter 19 who is on her own then 3 boys 17, 14, & 10. I joined this forum a week ago after picking up an 84 Bronco II last Saturday. its the first 4X4 I've had in about 7 years (I've been a Cadillac man for the last 5) but it's the 4th one 4X4 I've owned in the 28 years I've been driving & the secant 84 Bronco II I've had. I got it so I could go camping, fishing, hunting, & just plain 4 wheeling with my kids (something you can't do in a car.) Well today we took it out for the first time to try it out and it work perfect. went on some trails I use to go on when i was a teenager (a little tougher than i remembered, or i'm just getting older.) any way i'ts pretty good for a $600 beater. Over the next few years i'm planing to fix it up and this site seems to have a lot of helpful tips to do just that, I've already fix the saggy sun visors (great tip swapping from one side to the other.) It also had some vacuum leaks that I fixed temporarily that i need to find a good solution for, all the hard plastic vacuum lines are so brittle that they break if you touch them so I need suggestions on dealing with that. Well just wonted to say hi & that I'm impressed with this site.

for all your little vacuum lines a temp fix could be as simple as heading to your local parts house and buying a hole bunch of rubber vacuum hose, but my favorite thing is to head to your local junkyard and start stripping anything and everything of other vehicles you think you mite need.(easy for me to say cause i know all the junkyard owners here in blanding and little stuff like that dont cost me a dime :icon_thumby:)

Welcome to the forums. There's a lot of good information here. What are your plans for the truck? The old b2s are pretty impressive off road in stock trim but can be awsome with a few minor adjustments.

I planning to over the next year or so to fix it up to make it mechanically sound first. then maybe a 3" suspension lift but keep it stock for the most part, but I'm sure that could change. My other projects are pretty much done so it should get most of my attention, and so far my kids love it to so that will make it easier to spend time & money on it. I bought it originally as something to play with on the weekends but I find my self driving it most of the time, it's kind of fun to drive although it's taking some getting use to (haven't driven a carburated vehicle in a while.) I was taking the kids to school this morning & it was kind of cold my 14 year old son asked why it was so jerky when i take off, I told him cuz it's carburated not fuel injected, he asked me whats a carburetor? I don't think my two youngest kids have ever ridden in any thing with a carburetor before, how times have changed. It's not real fast (I'm use to a lot more power,) it doesnt handle all that great, no seat warmers, cruse control, intermittent wipers, power seats, I have to turn the head lights on & off by hand, no backup sensors, power mirrors, it doesnt tell me the out side tempter or what kind of gas mileage its getting, no onstar, or navigation system, the only stereo controls are on the stereo, no 6 disk cd changer or factory installed subwoofer, well i could go on & on, but i LOVE driving it! its just fun, even though its an old pos and every one at my work thinks its ugly, I don't care. I LIKE IT!
I'm coming up with a fairly lengthy list of questions that if I can't figure them out on my own I'll ask for help on. No pics yet (the batteries are dead on my camera) but soon I'll have some. Thanks for the welcome. Wade
