ok i am having a problem mounting my intercooler were i wanted it. i cannot get it close to the grille were i wanted it because it is too large. the only place im seeing it right by radiator. i would have to cut a peice out of core support but its only place its looking to go... any suggestions?

if you have 1/2 inch space between the radiator and the core i wouldnt worry about it. cutting the core compromises the intercooler, not a good idea.

the cut in the core support is for the tubing from the intercooler to go in and out.

Just hang it out under your bumper dude!...................

thats what we did. yet we put in a aluminum rad at the same time.
i dont have a pic right now though

sorry misread i thought you meant cut the core as in the finned part, hence cause a leak, my misunderstanding.

i dont think that he is talking about the intercooler core.. the core support is the front support on the truck. its what holds the radiator and the headlights etc on the front of the truck

yea i cut the core support today and put in the intercooler and we welded a bar underneath it to structure it and mount the bottom of the IC and it works amazing. thanks guys.

I cut the radiator support pillar for that purpose. Mine works just fine.

the radiator support? top or bottom? i cut the 2 beams directly behind each side of the radiator. wanna show me some pics?

here are mine in the truck. before we mounted the radiator though. ill get more pics tomorrow because this was yesterday. we are much further now.

It's mounted in FRONT of the radiator. Both the inlet and the outlet are on the same side, so I cut out the radiator support so the tubing could turn into the intercooler.

I'll fish around to see if I have a photo of that somewhere.

my intercooler is on the opposite side of radiator of the fan..... in FRONT of the radiator. and no clutch fan. electric fans only.
