Hey guys, I have a 88 and a 89 bronco ii. The 89 has been rolled and is pretty well trashed, but everything is great other then the body. Now the 88 is currently my daily, but what I was wondering is are all the drive train parts interchangeable. Like can I take the engine that I rebuilt out of my 89 and put it into my 88 without any issues?

Yes. The only differences in those years are cosmetic.

Okay, I wasn't sure, I notice the valve covers were different. Everything else looked the same, I just didn't I want to start swapping engines and find out the hard way it wouldn't work

The heads were re-designed for 89. The castings are stronger to fix the cracking problems of the earlier heads. The heads will interchange, but you need to use the 89 valve covers on the 89 and later heads.
