Alright guys, I have a question that may seem dumb to you. Haha! Does anybody have a picture of where the air intake is located on a stock 93 4.0 V6? The guy who owned the truck I just bought moved the intake BELOW the front bumper. Here is a picture of what I mean. I will try to get a closer picture of it later and maybe post it tonight if I can. Real wierd. I don't know why you would lower the air intake on a 4x4 especially.

The one on the driver's side is not even hooked up. Looks like he just did it on that side to match the passenger's side. Wierd. I would like to move it back to stock for obvious reasons. So, any pictures you have of the stock intake location would be appreciated. Thanks!

:shok:

Just follow your nose?

Mine's located in the lower left under the hood...Big round rubber hose connected to throttle body(metal thing) = air intake

Do you have the stock airbox?

See if this helps

Look for a triangularish shaped hole behind & below the pass side headlight it should have a baffle of sorts over it, that's where it all begins.

I would suggest you go to a salvage yard and get a replacement if you want to return to stock.

Yes. The stock airbox is still there. I think I have got it figured out now. Thanks for the picture, that was a big help. Here is what it is right now.

And the driver's side that is just there to even out the awesome looks of that little soap dish looking thing he glued to the intake tube.

HAHA wow! I would have been scared to buy that truck now...

glad you got the intake figured out. 2old4 this diagram is correct. Thats what my buddies 93 intake looked like.

Yuck...yea the stock intake goes just behind the passenger side headlight.

Oh really? Did you used to own this truck perhaps?

He used duct tape everywhere! To cover up the rust on the bottom of the body on the right rear? :icon_hornsup:
You guessed it. Custom "chrome" duct tape striping! Heck yeah! :headbang:

Top of the bed becasue he thought it looked nice? Yup... you guessed it again....

What kind of moron thinks that putting tape all over the truck will make it look BETTER!?!?!? At least I knew that going into it though. That is all coming off as soon as I can find my heat gun. Stupid boxes still packed in the garage....
