intake manifold and tb question

my buddy is parting out his 97 ranger with the 4.0, my question is can i swap over the upper intake manifold and tb to my 93?..will it and power? or are they the same?

I think they are the same part so you wont get a power increase. I'm not positive on that though. You could always port and polish his intakes though.

i have to do new gaskets anyway(i have a bad oil leak at the back of my lower intake) so if it was a increase i wanted to swap them..but thank you

If you use a bbk tb, and port the shit out of the intake then yes you will see small gains if used on a completely stock 4.0. If you where to port the lower as well then you are talking some decent gains
