How long does the intake gasket usually last in 2.9's?

Until it dies.

Gaskets are not in your maintenance schedule for a reason. It depends on quite a lot of conditions you can't control, such as vibration, leaks from elsewhere, fuel contamination, and so on.

You can't diagnose a truck with a stopwatch. It just doesn't work that way.

I was just wondering because I was going to change my valve cover seals. If Im that far in I was going to do the Intake so I wouldnt have to do it later.

in changing valvecover gaskets you are alot of work away from changing intake gaskets. leave them alone until you get a leak of some sort, then worry.

Old saying: If it's not broke? Don't fix it. Valve cover gaskets seem to always be an issue---and you'll have to run a small bead of sealant where the head meets the intake. (you'll see the overlap).

Pulling the lower intake is kinda a last resort issue LOL. It's a pain in the rear end. So if the engine is running good? Just replace those valve cover gaskets and call it a day.
