instrument gauges messing up

any time i turn on the a/c blower, windshield wipers, blinker, lights, hit the brakes...anything electrical the instrument gauges start goofing up. to be specific the oil pressure gauge goes up. the temp gauge goes up and the battery gauge goes down. guy at the ford place told me it sounds like i'm having a ground issue. any ideas as to why.thanks

It does sound like a ground issue. Problem is, where to start? Check the fuses for fitment and any wires to the fuse box. As last resort, it maybe the plugs in the back of the cluster.

Smacking the dash usually fixes the problem for a while.

yeah that will be my first approach. do you think that alot of corrosion inside the battery cables could cause it as well. that was my first guess b/c it does it when i roll the windows up and down too and that really wouldn't apply to the dash gauges... would it?
