I am not going to do is for a few months but i would like to start to figure it out. I need to replace the main line that goes to my rear brakes. I am not sure where it comes from I have not looked yet( I think it comes from the RABS thing in the engine compartment) and connecst to a flex hose that is attached to the fram at the rear axle. the other end of the flex hose is bolted onto the top of the diff and then hard lines run to the drum brakes. This is what I have learned so far please correct me if I am wrong. I will be using 3'16 tubing, the fittings should be 3/8 x 24. I was going to do this with a coil of tubing so that i did not have a splice, I need to double flair the ends, right?. . These are questions I have. should I use stainless steel and if I should does this come in long lengths?, is it harder to work with? the main line that goes to the rear has a coil look to it and the lines that run to the drum does not have a coil look, what is the difference. if I have to connect to the abs is that the same fitting and a double flair or is that different. anything someone could help me with I would appreciate it.

You can use stainless line if you can find it around where your at, but advance sells poly coated line that resists rusting. You can buy specific lengths of line, or a 25ft coil. Either or will work, but you will need 3/16" line, a double flare tool, and some tubing nuts. Keep in mind that ford sometimes uses larger tubing nuts, such as 1/4" nuts on the 3/16" line (esp. at the wheel cylinders). You can use 3/16"-to-1/4" adapter for these problem areas. As far as the abs module by the gas tank, Im not completely sure of the nut used...I have seen ford use bubble flare/metric threaded fittings in these areas. Best bet on that is to take the fittings to your local parts store to match them up.
