installing 01 ranger front spindles/hubs on 98 ranger possible?

i just bought a 1998 ranger 4x4 its a 4.0L longbed with 5 speed transmission,

a friend of mine owned it for the last 10 years, the 4x4 system has not worked in approx 8 of those 10 years, the transfer case works fine, but the 4x4 does not due to the vaccum hub assemblys having issues.

this being said, my friend was driving the truck last week and the entire front hub assembly failed and the wheel fell off at approx. 30MPH the truck skidded to a stop and he had it towed, at this point the truck will need the entire hub assembly, possibly the front axle, the front brake caliper, brake line, and the caliper bracket on the spindle

now i understand that the 01 and newer are locked in 4x4 all the time, but that being put aside, is it possible to just swap in the spindle/knuckles and brake parts from a 01 onto a 98 model and just have the always locked in front drivetrain?

if this will not work, is the caliper/brake hose from a 01 the same as a 98? just trying to get the truck back on the road.

all you need to swap is the hub assy. and the axle shafts. if you need all the other stuff it will bolt right up. i did it on my 99. works like a dream.
