Sure you can, grab some old 2 wire/ford actuators and some old ford door lock switches and a lot of wire and follow this wiring diagram.
You can also use any 2 wire aftermarket actuators and a 5 pin switch.

Orange is Continuous Hot fused or unfused
Red (4) is Fused Continuous Hot
Brown (5) is dimmer lights (optional on some switches)
Green (3) is Unlock
Blue (6) is lock
Black (1,7,2) is Ground.

No, you can add that in later if you like.
To do that you would just connect the Door lock module for the keyless system to the green and blue wires that run between the two switches.
Funny thing is most aftermarket modules are color coded with the blue and green for there lock and unlock wires.

There is a door lock module that you can get with a keyless entry system that will replace the setup I have shown above, but you will not have a switch in you truck, only you fob will lock and unlock your doors or a timer set to 30sec after ignition cycle.

For this route you can get the complete setup ( keyless entry, Lock module, 2x actuators) for just under $70 and it should take you about 2 hours to install.

With a new switch and aftermarket Actuators and wire, you ll spend $25-30
later on you can add just the keyless entry setup with out the module and youll still be under the $70 mark but youll have door lock switches in the truck.

No need for relays?
i have a couple aftermarket 2 wire locks on my truck, but i havent wired them yet because i thought i needed 2 5 pin relays for them, and always forget to buy them:icon_twisted:

Im using the oem 99 power switches.

Wiring power windows is basically the same deal.
mine are wired with 1 5 pin relay.

No need for relays. This is the same setup Ford has done in their cars and trucks for over 20 years.

As shown in this diagram here in the TRS Tech Library Its basicly the same thing, just color coded and easier to follow.

If you want to use a relay I can devise a way to put one in there...
Say for a auto lock when key is on, but that would require a three relays, a few electronic parts and some good soldering skills... ;)

That wouldn't be an issue since i graduated as an electronics tech from high school.
i always thought it was better to put relays on them. since the alarm installers always use them.

The auto lock would be a neat add on. Ill try to wire them this week and then start thinking about something like that.

Thanks for the great advice. :icon_thumby:

You can easily add the convenience of auto lock to any vehicle equipped with power locks without adding a keyless entry or alarm ( or if the one you have does not have this feature).
Please notice the relay on the left.
This is an inhibit to prevent the doors from locking the customer out of his vehicle. When the key is turned to the "ignition on" position, the doors will only lock automatically if the doors are closed.
If the vehicle has a positive door trigger, change terminal #85 of the left relay to ground and connect the door trigger to #86 as shown.

Like above, you can add auto unlock to any vehicle equipped with power locks. Just connect the output of this circuit to the vehicle's door lock circuit using the appropriate application

The alarm installers use the relays for many reasons, mostly to convert the multiple types of power lock controls to add in a key less entry or alarm system or to the Reverse Polarity style actuators, this way there is no circuit connection made between the lock/unlock module built into the alarm and the door lock switch when some one manually pushes the lock or unlock.

Another reason for the relays is the modules use a pulse or control voltage up to 5V DC, this is not enough to activate anything that needs 12V DC, so they use the relay to supply the requested item with true 12V DC and the control voltage is just the signal to activate the relay.

Its just a make n Break setup...

Thanks for the REP point.

Would it be just as simple to install power windows?

Yep just as easy, Grab all 3 switches, and both motors and regulators from a donor truck and use the following diagram.

Again, no need for relays, This is the same setup that Ford has been using for over 20 years.
You can check out the stock diagram here in The TRS Tech Library.

This current setup does not have the auto up/down controls, but You can add the auto up/down module at any time.
