I'm thinking of picking up a '98 Ranger w/5 spd.

It does not have a tach, and I'm pretty sure that I want one.

First, what years will swap into this?

2nd. what am I looking at as far as wiring?

I know that alot of time, Ford will include the wiring, regardless of it is actually part of the final order, but should I expect to find the wiring hiding behind the dash?

thanks,

plug and play my friend. 95+ ranger and explorer gauges swap directly in, the wiring for a tach is already built into your truck. There is a good article in either the tech library or the magazine that tells you how to roll your odometer. I just swapped some white faced gauges from an explorer into mine, they turned out really nice.

exactly. i have a 02 sport-trac white face cluster on my 99. and the cluster my 99 had is on my brothers 00 that had no tach.

Thanks guys.

I'll post picks if I can work the deal.
