I may be able to get repairs done with no labor fee from my local tech schools auto program. I would have a 300 buck budget to put towards it and I'd like to know some of the things I could do with what I have.

What it need for sure is:
Head gaskets replaced
Speedo cable and gear
Vacuum leaks repaired
Manual hubs replaced
Fluids changed(oil, diffs, t case, grease in grease zerks)

What I'd like to do if I have money left:
Paint it with a cheap paint or tractor paint
Fix up the rust

I have a very rough idea of some of the costs but not a very good one as parts and such can range widely

If anyones done these recently and know whatabouts they spent could you let me know.

Head gaskets - not sure
Speedo cable and gear - around $70 depending on the severity of the issue
Vacuum leaks - free unless they are going to charge you for bulk hose they have laying around
Manual hubs - trsfabandoffroad.com has them priced at $77 but there are repair kits for around $30 if they aren't totally FUBAR'd

Oil change - Any half decent 5w30 $30 and a filter $8
Diffs - Conventional diff oil $40/both
t-case + trans - I think MercV or equivalent $55
Grease chassis - Free again unless they charge you for a little bulk grease.

Just a rough estimate of the top of my head with a crappy CAD to US conversion.

Thanks mike! I looked an a head gasket kit set is bout 50 bucks. I think though that if I ordered parts through the tech its a 10% discount or so. That should cut costs. I belive that my heads are ok but if not how much do they go for?

go to walmart and get the oil they usually have oil on sale. mine has pennzoil and vavoline 10w30 for 11 and 10$ and filter for 5$

A lot. I don't know how much, but I'm guessing triple digits.

Yikes man that sucks. So I have cracked manifolds will they be ok to put back on?

It'd be better if you had not-cracked manifolds.

If you had cracked intakes I could help you. I'm not sure what I have in terms of exhaust for a 5.0.

I'll be sure to check the next time I'm at my dad's house, and if I do have a set, they are yours for shipping cost.
