is it neccesary to unbolt the upper intake off while changing injectors or is there an easier way

I just did that the other day. You could try to not take the upper intake off, but, its nearly impossible. And you have to be really careful not to mess up the upper and lower o-rings while doing so. I tried it on one of my other trucks and I couldnt get it to work. Others have told me they could. But its so much easier to get them in rt and to get the fuel rail bolts back in, with it off. Good luck to you

that is the easy way, you have to move a wiring harness out of the way to get to some stuff, and it runs THROUGH the intake runners. all you need is a long 3/8 extension and it will be cake to remove the intake.

alright ill wait till i get back from the beach next week and ill just go buy a new intake gasket. i was tryin to see if there was a cheaper way..i guess not haha

all you will need is the plenum gasket, they are about 9 bucks.

how do you remove fuel injectors and fuel manifold?

how do you remove fuel injectors and fuel manifold?

Fuel injectors themselves are held in place by a small clip. Comes off pretty easy (do not lose the clips!!) and the injectors come out with a slight twist/pull action. They go in about the same way--but use some engine oil on the o-rings--as they LOVE to tear when installed. (helps to have a few extra, cause they will tear at least once or twice)

Fuel manifold is a snap. Discharge the fuel rail, unhook the lines and the upper air intake being off works a treat. There are a couple of bolts/nuts...and then it just kinda "Rocks" out and up. Careful with the wires...old harness and connectors are prone to cracking.
