Im reconditioning my fuel system on my truck. One thing that I am in the process of is putting new seals on my fuel injectors. The books that I have say to remove the connectors from the injectors before you remove the fuel manifold. Does anyone have a special tool to release the tabs and remove the connectors. I removed the outer connectors allready but the ones on the inside are in very tight quarters. I found a tool that removes the connectors but there is no way it will work in thght areas. Before I figure out how to make my own tool I would like to know if I have any other options?

Fuel Rail

On my '87, all six injector wires go to a common wiring connector that plugs into the main wiring harness. I simply unplugged from the main harness, took the entire fuel rail off with wires attached and reworked the injectors on the bench.

I got the fuel injectors cleaned up as well as new seals. The book sucks as far as the sequence of removing them. I ended up pulling the injector manifold complete with the injectors with it. Some of my injectors must have been leaking for a while. The bores that they go into were all gummed up. I cleaned them up as well. I have four of the retainer clips installed. Two of the clips to flight to areas unknown to me. I called around to find out that I can not get them even at the dealer. I drove out to pick and pull to get an egr solenoid an a steering pump for my other car. I forgot to get the clips, now I have to drive the twenty miles back out there to get the clips.
