Backstory: I bought a 1996 Ranger 4.0 with unknown miles (the odometer stopped at 221k). It had a CEL for a misfire on cylinder one. The previous owner changed the plugs and wires, but didn't get it to clear. I bought the car with this knowledge.

Yesterday/now: I bought some injectors from ebay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/223354203882) and changed them out yesterday. I didn't do a great job of cleaning the area around the injector holes in the manifold and some (minimal) debris got into the cylinders. After the installation, I primed the fuel pump and started the car. The CEL has turned off, but now I have rough idle and backfires (which will occasionally cause the engine to die). I assume that I hooked up all the vacuum lines to their correct locations, as well as the plug wires properly to the coil pack. The only place I'm iffy about with vacuum lines is on the driver side at the back of the intake.

My assumptions are this:
A) I got cheap imitation injectors than the real ones
B) the debris is causing engine issues and needs to be cleaned out somehow
C) I need new plugs because the PO didnt actually do it.

Any advice? I'll post a video of what it's doing in about 3 hours, as I've got something I do soon.

Video as promised.

Also, I noticed the backfire is popping off the hose circle in yellow.

So I figured it out. The plug wires were on the coil wrong... lesson learned.

Also, I had to get a new ignition coil because the CEL came back up. Now the truck has more power than i could have ever hoped for. Loving my ranger (even though i was ready to burn it earlier today)

Glad I could help!
