I have an '87 4WD, 2.9, manual that runs great but the cab and box are very rusty. Have located a '91 2WD truck V6 with bad engine and tranny but nearly perfect cab and box. Other than the center hump, which I'm sure would have to be modified, are the cab mounts on the frame of my 4WD similiar so that I could bolt that '91 cab on the '87 chassis??
Any help on this is appreciated....thanks!!
Pat

I think there might be a frame width difference.
I recomend grabbing a tape measure and checking all 6 body mounts.

the tranny tunnels are the same as are the body mounts(83-97 are the same) the 98+ regular cabs are different because they stretched the a hair for the bigger cab but a 98+ extended cab will bolt on and all the bolts will line up but the 2 radiator support,

so besides the front bumper(frame horns)
83-97 frame mounts are the same exended cab or regular cab
and besides the front 2 radiator support mounts
83-2010 extend cab are the same

so if you really wanted to and you had a extended cab frame from 83, you could bolt a 2010 body on it , the radiator support would need new holes drilled for the mounts and the 2008 or so have an extra bed mounts that aren't needed so the bed will bolt right up
and all you would have to do is fab some front bumper brackets up

on the '83-88 the bumper mounts to the "tip" of the frame rail

On an '89-92 the frame mounts to the SIDE of the frame rail.

You MUST use a 1989-92 bumper with the 1992 cab

Trimming off the end 5/8" of the frame is likely optional.

the gen 2 cab will bolt right to a gen1 frame, no issues.

Sounds like you have everything you need.
