I want to remove it, anyone ever done that before,

Yes, I don't trust them. My trucks all sit alot and the inertia switches don't like it. Just cut the connector off and splice the wires together. After all Only Fords had them.

i have to advise against removing it. it can save your life in the event of a vehicle fire.

if anything, i would think sitting for long periods would cause the switch to "stick" in the on position...

+1

Are specifically having problems with it? They're meant to kill the fuel in the event of an impact, which isn't a bad thing.

+1 on Pony's post. If you do decide to get rid of it, at least put another switch that you can manually turn on/off. At least with a manual switch someone cant steal your junk.

get rid of it if you go off road and hit bumps it trips and the engine dies. fukin pos

I have to differ on that. i hit a poll in the winter head on. The dam thing didnt even work my truck still kept running! after 3 mounths the truck is back on the road. i cut it off when i was fixing my truck!! POS!!

it works in my 07, my gf accidently hit it with her foot and the truck died.

I've had quite a few hard hits in my 96, including rear ending an eagle talon and having the tires go right up into his rear hatch and eventually in his back seat...was really funny actually lol, damn truck stayed running, it probably doesnt even work.

Have not tried the one in my truck but... the one in my buddy's 94 escort wagon went off when we hit a pot hole at 90Kmh lol spent 20 min crawling under the damn thing till we both looked at each other and said Freaking in-switch :buttkick:
