My credo
the grey-t escape
So, my "new to me" '92 2.3 2wd has 215/70/14 tires, 3.73's i still have the winter wheels/ tires from my '93 4x4, 235/75/15. I know the spedometer will be off 5 mph @ 55, not going to use o/d (5 speed manual) is this going to be too difficult to drive? Not going to be pulling anything, just back and forth to work.

You have 3.73's? I wouldn't sweat it. I ran 225/70R15 ~27" tires on 3.08 gears for a year on my 91 2.3. 235/75r15 ~29" tire should be no problem. I wouldn't even worry about putting it in O/D.

Edit: I use this link a lot when I'm currious how different tires effect the gear ratio. http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/gearandtirechart.shtml

Yea, Bro. No sweat like he said above!!!! 3.73 gears will handle the 15 inch rims and tires. If you were going to go to 33's I would worry then. Mount them and enjoy them.

Should get a little better mileage on the highway.

Ok, sounds good. Tires that came with this truck were new in 2001, so id rather run my other winter set from my 93 4x4. Wouldnt run anything bigger than the 235's.

If you have a smart phone you can double check your speedo math with a free speedo app they work pretty good help you check where you are.

Got them on, just a slight rub at full steering lock on the front sway bar. Too dark for pics, looks better with the taller tires, doesnt drive too bad. Need a bigger spare though. 9" drums look really small now. Will have to get a picture tomorrow, got too dark too quick on me.
