Got a new phone the other day. And it's slow as all get out.
In the paint section of Harbor Freight, they sell plastic drop cloths for under 10 bucks.
They're folded in a package so they're not real big while still in the package and they fit right underneath the seat.
It's always nice to have something to spread out so you ain't got to be in the mud or whatever.
I have a list somewhere of the contents of my toolbox that lives in my F-150 and has saved my butt more than a few times. I’ll have to get working on that. I wanted to mirror it into tool sets that go in every vehicle.
Pick a common repair, go through it in your head and make a list of EVERYTHING you need.
For example... your wheel bearing replacement... you need to remove the caliper to get the rotor off. Do you have a punch to drive the slide pins out? Having just done this exact job in a parking lot 500 miles from home, I can tell you that I did not and had to resort to driving them and the bearing races out with a 6" 3/8 extension. I probably ruined that tool (but got the job done...)
I carry a crap ton of tools in every vehicle but just seem to be short of something every time. Just be as prepared as you can...that'll be good enough. One thing that I always seem to be missing is a handful of latex gloves and a bunch of rags. Those make repairs 1000% better.
in my '48, I have to admit I keep the following in addition to my earlier "you carry way too much Robbie" comment:
spare distributor cap
spare fuel filter (inline cheap 1st filter to get the big trash out like rusty flakes)
can of ether
BFH (Big F Hammer)
30-50' of baling wire.
