Imports aren't the cause of our dying hobby. RICERS are.

Thank you Brinker! That's what I was wanting to point out. You hit the nail on the head.

My community has a meet every weekend. The bank *which has a car garage* allows us to use their property if its raining out.

We don't allow anyone who is going to pose a threat to the meet who may cause it to be shut down. The cops here are pretty nice about it. Which is always a Plus!

Brinker, I don't mind you distributing it. Its all good.

RICER's, no matter the Vehicle, can be a threat to our hobby, wether it be the douchebag doing burnouts in his Mustang, to the girl thinking she's hot by 'drifting' her Acura Integra. They are Ricer's.

Granted, our Rangers were Built with Pride in America. The majority of parts came from Europe and Asia. My 2.9 came from Germany. I'm okay with that.

Honda, Kia, Toyota, and Hyndai have plants here in the U.S. Hell, the Camaro, to which alot of us love.. is made in Canada! The Hemi that the MOPAR boys and girls live, is assembled in Mexico. The 5.7 and 6.1 are assembled in Chiuahua Mexico I beleive.

No matter Where its made, its still an' Import to some aspect.

They are all sports cars. Like Porsches. Sports cars. Muscle cars was nother name we gave to the high performace cars back when. The were like a rocket ship. Later, the cars became known for how well they went like stink and handled as well. I had those 70's cars back in the 80's and my 65 'Stang or my 67 fastback big block did not handle very well. Neither did my 67 or my 68 Z28's. But...man!! Did they go like stink!!!! My 86 Mustang GT handled great, but I put money in the suspension and the motor and it went all out with handling amnd performance. I have friends with the newer 'Stangs and they handle really great and have great power performance. I realy like them!!! I have driven several of them and they are very nice. I wish they were just a bit bigger, but the looks are nice.

I have had people get all up tight about me calling a Mustang a sports car...

Basically from what I gathered they have to be a two seater, front engine, rwd, convertable option, and handle good for what they are in their day... if you really want to make them mad point out a DJ mail jeep fits their description too. :stirthepot:

The newer 'stangs are pretty good sized... :icon_confused:

My community has a meet every week that does this. Everyone's welcome, we work with local businesses (Advance Auto mainly) and the police know what's going on.

There is NO nonsense aloud, and you only get 1 chance...I love it.

To be biased against "ricers" (imports) is insane. Any moron can jump into ANY vehicle, add a bunch of stickers and a "loud" exhaust and burn out all the time. THAT is a true ricer/dumbass. The point is, the VEHICLES arent the ricers, the PERSON is.

And rebel, I distributed this post around. I hope you dont mind.

Thank you, Bro. You said what I have been saying for many a year now!!! I will try and rep you on that!!!! Well said!!! It is the person behind the wheel that is the idiot and not the car or truck. I love a nice looking car or truck. I don;t care if it is an import or not. I have had British and Japanese bikes for years and I love the hell out of them!!!! Our car meets that I attend once in awhile are really nice. They have a safe burnout area away from the peeps so nobody but the car or tires gets hurt. This is the way to have ameet. Do it right the first time and every time another meet comes up you know you can take your family there and feel safe.

Well, for me the newer 'Stangs are just a bit small to me. My 86 just seemed a bit bigger but the styling has changed on the outside a lot, but I still love them. I have driven a bunch of them and do like them. I would not take a long trip in one unless I was by myself...too cramped for 4 peeps...lol

That guy has a vaild point. Car meets is a very social gathering of people that really love the hobby of vehicles. I usually label any person in vehicle with a fart can and a poorly setup vehicle a ricer. I think I will change my termology on that now.

And thank you! :headbang:

I'm with Brinker and straycat on this one. lol. Fart can. Simple things amuse me.

Most import cars around here don't get abused. Its the hundreds of rednecks with straight pipes on a body lifted chevrolet 4x4 causing the problems. If you are at a two or more lane stop light and there are two pickups in front, I can guarentee you they will burn out and race. Diesels? Oh yea, they'll smoke everyone out. I can't stand taking my bike to cruise nights because all the diesel smoke and cops who are attracted to that shit.

Who cares of where the parts are made. What I want to deal with, is the idiots who show up to car meets and rev the piss out of their engines, do burnouts and idiotic stuff that. We all enjoy a good burnout every now and then, but why risk it if it gets you shut down? Thats why I don't bring my Ranger anymore to any car meets. Everytime someone does something stupid, cops are called. The one car meet I do go to, we have banned people from our group because of the high rate of cops called because they're doing stupid crap like donuts, burnouts and being annoying.

I don't mind loud exhaust. If it makes you go faster, then okay. But if you just have a hole in your muffler or a coffe can-sized exhaust, then theres no point in it. Might as well ban all muscle cars with a mild cam and 2.5" exhaust. lol.

The point is, we all should stop the dudes that RICE or promote RICE.

pussies.....all of you that hate this are pussies.

reckless disregard is one thing..i can agree with that aspect as unacceptable..
some people just need a good ol fashioned ass whoopin...no cops...just peer pressure...but people have no idea how to handle personal responsibility these days....dont understand you have the right to be an asshat...and the right to have your ass whooped....perfectly acceptable situation to me.

..but simply playing in a reasonably safe zone is fine with me....loud obnoxious vehicles rattlin the air in a open lot is a normal as apple pie to me...tire smoke makes me smile, and as much as i dislike the sound of a 4 or 6 cyl...let em play!!!!

running down an open dry freeway in a spanking new 70000 dollar cadi at 90 miles an hour is reasonably safe imo as well.

from 110 it out stops my 350 at 65.

reasonable with current society is disgusting.... in general...when "there ought to be a law" is comming out of ones mouth....they should just shut the fawk up and really think about it... i am sick of fawkers taking away freedom and liberty due to some pussified vision of right and wrong...
