Ok... So I want to get a locker, and I went to check before ordering the locker that I had the 7.5 Rear End. Instead I have an 8.8 Rear End. I can't read what the gearing is though? Any help?

Its a 2005 Ford Ranger Edge, with a 3.0L V6

So I just got back out from underneath the truck. I have fluid on the bottom of the differential on the outside, suspect its a small leak since I have enough fluid still. Anyways, back to the gearing question, I can make out a .10, so is this a 4.10 geared 8.8? Any help would be great. Thanks

Grab a piece of sandpaper and clean up the surface, that should help clarify any numbers that are on the tag.

Any help?

Not with those blurry pics...

If you can make out a "10" at the bottom left, 4.10s is likely what it is, yes (the "4" and maybe possibly an "L" is hiding under the bolt head)

just check your axle code on the door sticker....alot easier than trying to read that tag...

The Axle code was 97, so its an open 8.8 with 4.10 thanks, sorry bout the blurry pics, not a great camera man.

One last question, Is it 31 spline then? I know it seems trivial, but any help would be appreciated.
