Was able to check it out a little more today. It started right up and had no problem idling or anything.
However it didn't have any turn signals.
First thing I did was check the fuses this time.
Turned out to be the flasher.

Took it for a small drive around a few blocks in the neighborhood and it's sure will go.
Turned the corner and hit the gas and the passenger side tire sure was easy to get spinning.

Didn't matter which way I turned right or left that tire sure liked to spin.

Brakes need to be bleed I'm thinking.
Their somewhat " spongy " is the word that comes to mind.

they do tend to have spongy brakes

could be a soft line or two is getting to be needing replaced. just get a good look at em...

just keep cheking it out and make sure to check everything is fair in wear and all the fasteners tight and stuff. keep oil in it....they will run

If you look close at the pictures you can see were the front passenger side bumper is pushed in some.

There was some rubbing when I turned Left.
It turned out to be a piece of plastic from the back side of the bumper had slid out just enough to rub the tire when I turned Left.
I cut it off.
I'll take a better look to see if the bumper mont or frame is bent when I get some more time. And it's a little warmer out.
I don't have a garage.
I already checked how much a used bumper cost at LKQ their $115.94 + tax.

The passenger side of the back window is gone completely.
It has the back window with the sliders in the middle.
The piece that's missing is the far right fixed piece.
I figured for temporary I'd put a piece of plexiglass in the hole.

I could also smell oil burning. Checking what's causing that problem out is what's next on the list.

Does anyone know if the cab end window of the bed cap ( or whatever it's called ) will fit the cab back window hole?

definitely minor leaks are easy to just power wash off here and there to keep build up and oil smoke down. seen more then one vehicle fire from built up oil grime on the exhaust manifold.

after the first time i rolled my truck i went about 10 years with most of the year missing the windows...hell there is a piece of plastic back there now.....solid black...

not likely. but possible if its a custom cab top window. i have seen rear slider pickup windows as side windows in bed caps.

the truck looks like it is the biiger ford style...but the cap appears like it has the roll seal standard slider....which is the generic window for mini trucks bck in the day

So it is called a bed cap?
I had a friend help me slide it off last night. Because it was just setting on the bed and not monted .
I didn't want to chance it falling off today when I was driving around.
We put it on the bed of my brother's broke down roll back. ( My next project hopefully. However I hate to say that's a Chevrolet. )
I did not look at it very well. But I did notice that it looks like it's shaped to fit up next to the cab. Or so it seemed to look like. With the little look I did get of it.

it is more of a topper or bed top....camper top...ect..

these days bed cap could actually be just that ....a hard tonneau cover
