I'm sure I got a short.

Well I was able to try drilling out the Y-pipe exhaust manifold bolts some more today.
A made no headway on that and got really irritated.

So I decided to try and get the exhaust manifolds off again and luckily I did make headway on that.

Busted three of the manifold to head bolts on the driver side however.
I got two bolts on the driver side out successfully and have one bolt left in there. I can't get to with my tool I'm using.

It appears I'm going to have to disconnect my steering column.
I need to get to the piece that the steering column hooks to, to lower down so I can get the right angle on the bolt head.

Hopefully once I get the right angle onto the bolt head and get my tool in there good the bolt won't break on me.

After much persistence I was able to get the passenger side exhaust manifold off.
I messed up a few of the bolt heads pretty good though.
To my luck however I did not break no bolts on the passenger side.

Here's 2 pictures of the passenger side exhaust manifold.

This way you all can see my drilling efforts.
I tried a brand new bit today. It too was like it was just sitting and spinning.
Just like the others bits was doing.
I think maybe I wasn't getting enough pressure pushed up against the bolt I'm trying to drill out.

I don't know.
I try different drill speeds and using some oil for drilling fluid.
I know I'm doing something wrong, I just don't know what it is.

Well there's my book for today.

Still haven't been able to work on my truck anymore since Saturday.

I should have some time tomorrow to work on it however.

I'm hoping I can get that last exhaust manifold to head bolt out without it breaking on me.

I was able to work on my truck yesterday afternoon.

I was wrong on my busted exhaust manifold to head bolt count on the driver's side.
I must have counted 1 broken bolt twice. Because yesterday I checked everything over, before I started trying to get the last bolt out of the driver's side exhaust manifold.
I counted out 11 bolts total and only 2 were broken.

I spent 3 hours trying to get the top middle bolt out of the manifold.
I tried everything I could think of except putting heat to it.
And even if I would have used some heat onit, it wouldn't have done any good.
Because I couldn't get anything to bite onto the head of bolt.

In the end I was so irritated and fed up, I just took a cutting disc and cut the head off the bolt.
So now at this point I was able to get all 6 of the bolts out of the passenger side successfully
I was also able to successfully get all three of the bottom bolts on the driver side out.

The top front bolt on the driver side broke off just a tiny bit inside of the head.
The top middle bolt I cut the head off of it so the whole bolt is sticking out except for the head I cut off of it.
The top back bolt has about maybe 3/16 sticking out of the head.

At this point as everybody knows it's the beginning of the month, so I've paid bills and now I'm broke again.

Here is 2 pictures of the driver's side exhaust manifold.

And with the last picture everyone can see my drilling efforts on that bolt.

Beings I'm broke I'm not going to be doing anything with my truck for a few more days

That's all I got for this time around.
Have a nice day everyone.

Patience. You're getting it done. Sometimes things just go a bit slower than we want.

@Curious Hound I agree.
But hell at this rate I could tap some maple trees and get some molasses faster.

You'll definitely get done milleniums before you would ever get molasses from a maple tree. Molasses comes from sugar cane.

That was the point. (I know molasses comes from sugarcane.)

Because I'm the one right in it and not on the outside looking in, at times it feels like I will need a miracle to get it finished.

Hi everyone I've not been able to even read posts lately because my phone's been broken.

It is saying that it doesn't have a sim card in it.
And up until yesterday it was not even letting me hook up to my brother's wi-fi.

However yesterday it started letting me hook up to the wi-fi, after my brother unplugged his router counted the 20 and then plugged it back in.
After the router rebooted my phone allowed me to get on his Wi-Fi.
I don't know enough and don't understand it to be able to say why it did it that way or what happened.

So in the time that I've not been able to post I was able to get the bolts/studs drilled out of my exhaust manifolds.

I took them to my brother Larry's house. He has some banisters on his front porch that we was able to use a
c-clamp to hold the exhaust manifold to the banisters.
(Not having a work bench and a vice sucks.)
Then I was able to put good pressure on the drill and get the bolts/studs drilled out.
It wasn't the prettiest drill out jobs but it worked.
I broke a few drill bits as well but I got the job done as I've already said.

I also got the top middle exhaust manifold to head bolt out without it breaking. Both the other 2 top exhaust manifold to head bolts are still in the head.
I tried several times for several hours to get the back bolt that's sticking out about 3/16 of an inch out of the head to come out and I was not successful.

So I've decided to just put the manifold back on using two gaskets on that side and only four bolts. The three bottom bolts and the top middle bolt.

I did that today.

I also put some bolts with lock washers on them, into the holes that the studs used to be in for the y-pipe.
That way once I'm putting the y-pipe back in the bolts are already there and ready to receive the y-pipe and another lock washer and nut on each bolt.

I plan on putting the other exhaust manifold back on tomorrow without a manifold gasket.
Because when I was buying the manifold gaskets I could only find one set at one store.
And now I'm so broke I can't even afford to buy another set even though they only cost a little under $18:00 after taxes.
I can always take the manifold back off and put a gasket in there later when I got some money.

At this point I've got everything I need to put my transmission back in.
However being broke and not having a big supply of money and not having a real job, I don't have any transmission fluid. Because I don't have the money to buy any yet.
But I'll get there sooner than later.

Well there's my book for today.

Figured I give another update on the progress I've had with my truck.
Was not able to work on it yesterday like I thought it would be able to do.

However I was able to work on it today and I got the other exhaust manifold on.
And of course I have the new bolts in the holes where the studs were as well.

Also looked around in my brother's garage for something to use to put up against the back seal where the drive shaft goes into the transmission, so I could tap the new seal into place.
I figured the transmission's out so I might as well change both the seals instead of just one.
I couldn't find nothing that would fit right so I'm going to have to wait for my brother Andy to pick something up for me to use.

I have the new front seal in already.
So once I put in the new back seal I'll be ready to go ahead and put the transmission back in place.

Then once I reassemble everything I'll just need to wait for some transmission fluid.

Well that's all I got for today's update. Have a good day everyone.

See ? You’re making progress!

Yeah @Jazzer I'm making progress.
However it feels like the progress is going so slow I could have drove to Japan and back by now.

And yes that's driving under the ocean as well.

@Curious Hound My truck is to nice to drive it under the ocean.
I would drive my Brother Andy's 2008 Chevy Malibu that I've been using under the ocean however.

For being an Ohio truck with a salvage title, my truck's actually pretty clean.
Don't get me wrong there's a few little spots to be addressed but for a 94 and being in Ohio yeah my truck is pretty clean.

So I have an update and a problem I need help figuring out.

1st the update.
My brother ordered me some transmission fluid yesterday.
It should be here tomorrow.
Then hopefully my brother will have some time this week to help me get my transmission bolted to the motor.
After that I can do everything else on my own.
I'll be 50 this month and I'm not about to kill my back, shoulder, or any other part of my body getting the transmission in place on my own.
30 years ago I would have did it by myself.

Now to the problem.
I can't get my phone to allow the push notifications from TheRangerStation to go through.
I've tried everything I can think of.

I went to the settings on my phone and then to the notification section, it only brings up notifications for apps. So I did turn the notifications on for my Chrome app. Which is the app that my browser uses when I'm on TheRangerStation I do believe.

I've tried three times to go to the top of the page here in TheRangerStation, clicking on the little bell to open the alerts and then going to the bottom of that and clicking on preferences.

Once I have the preferences open I have then clicked all the check marks for the push notifications and everything that has to do with the push notifications and then clicked on save.

The preferences does a little reboot thing and then the part about the post notification says it's blocked still.

I now have one of those government phones that everybody calls an Obama phone.
In the about my phone section it says the phone is a C5L Max.
I'm at a loss can anybody help me?

And once again I wrote a book sorry.
