is there a good clutch to get that can handle some mud? this is a daily driver and a weekend swampthing. i need a clutch that would last longer then 8 months. which is about the last time i had it replaced. if there is something out there, where can i get it?

A clutch for a 3.0... Seriously, a stock replacement will be fine... Either re-gear for the tires you have (if you haven't) or learn how to drive a manual... You shouldn't be going through clutches in 8 months... If you know how to properly drive a manual equipped vehicle, more often than not, the clutch will outlive the engine...

ive clog up clutches with mud, plus the sandy puddles eat that shit like crazy. i had this truck for 2 years. towing with it sucks. cant go faster than 55 in 4th gear. and i only tow a landscape trailer.

Well, no clutch will stand up to that... Just be prepared to replace clutches every 8 months...

do u even go mudding? whats that "soon to be 4wd"? dont tell me ur one of those curb kissing cheech and chong low riding cant drive on snowy days kind of ppl. is there anyone thats knows of some type of clutch thats good for off roading? thats all i need to know.

Ok, so I get on here and try to help you with your problem and you're going to do that to me? No, I have never gone "mudding" in my life, it doesn't appeal to me... You abuse your clutch... Fact of the matter is you could buy a nine billion dollar clutch made of gold, it still wouldn't hold up to that... The best clutch for off-road is a stock replacement... You ever try driving a vehicle with a performance clutch? I'm guessing not, otherwise you would know it kills your leg, now I wouldn't really want to manipulate a clutch that stiff while I'm off road.... BUT, obviously you are not looking for help, you are just too lazy to look up the parts yourself, otherwise you would have taken my advice...

What gearing and tire size your running?

Get a stock clutch, but figure out a way to prevent mud/sand getting into your bellhousing.

Building my truck then taking it for a mudbath?

that has about as much appeal as being on the
receiving end of non-consentual anal sex.

Like I said in a recent post I drive a 4x4 to avoil
unintentional/unplanned offroad adventures.

OR getting somewhere when a major interstate is beginning to look a scene in
some post apocalyptic "nuclear winter" movie...

While I'm 900-odd miles from home.

MY truck works for a living, it is not a toy.

+1... I don't go "mudding" because I rather not abuse my truck that way... I need it for school, and to get to work... Being that school and work just happens to be in the middle of several 4x4 only accessible roads anyway just makes it more fun (until it rains and I'm stuck there for another two days)... The other 80% of the time it drives down the road, to "other" work, and actual classes, why do I want a mud truck to drive to school when I don't need one? My truck is a tool, one that gets me from point A to point B, no matter what the conditions in between are...
