Well, it seems my truck is just being ridiculous. About a month ago it went through it's 5th alternator since I've had it (3 years) and the door locks both decided to stop working tonight. It's had a history of tiny, insignificant problems that are easily solved (like the door locks) but it's becoming irritating.

And tonight it starts to spudder and act like it's going to die going down the highway. I stop at a gas station, poke around in the motor a bit, check the oil (it's low) and add a quart in. I drive it a bit more and it's still acting like it's going to die on me, so I park it again. I let it idle for a few minutes and it decides it's done being moody and drives fine the rest of the way home.

Don't get me wrong, I love my truck. But it is 10 years old and has 150k miles and it seems like these problems never go away. I'm more than happy to fix them, but it does get tiresome. Now I have no clue what in the hell caused it's strange driving tonight and I wasn't anywhere near dangerously low on oil, so I'm completely confused.

My parents suggested that I start to look around town at other possible vehicles to trade it in on. It seems like such a waste considering everything I've put into it and the aftermarket mods that have made it my "own". And I know I would just cry seeing it in a parking lot if I ever did get rid of it. What do you guys think? Is it worth the hassle to continue on with?

Changed a fuel filter lately, possibly a clogged catalytic converter as well? Just things to check for as the miles start racking up. I know both of those have caused similiar issues with my truck over the last year or so....280xxxkm's

Find another similar truck and swap the parts over that you want to keep. Sell the "leftover mobile" for whatever you can get.

Give it a month or two if you can before you sell the "clunker" (sorry) so if there's any issues you have spare parts at your disposal.

Well a family friend is going to check it out and make sure everything is working 100%. I just need it to last maybe half a year longer and I'll be in the clear.

the older the trickier
i had like 2 weeks of purchased mine when the fuel pump was gone, so yeah they get annoying sometimes but, with all ive invested on mine i just cant sell it, i rather fix the bugs and keep it more time.
just my op
