I don't know why.

My birthday was December 5th and my Christmas tree is usually up by then. It's usually up right after Thanksgiving.

I haven't put up a single Christmas decoration.

I've only bought one gift that I'm not even that crazy about.

I feel like Scrooge. I just can't get in the spirit this year.

I have less than 10-days to figure out gifts and get them sent.

Anyone else in this boat, or am I floating alone?

Same. Hoping I snap out of it soon.. Christmas was always a favorite time of year for me with the festivities and seeing the whole family and stuff.. kinda meh this year though. Too much stress about other things dragging me down perhaps.

I've been so busy with work and trying to get the F250 repaired, that I decided to skip decorating this year. I'm not feeling the season yet. I'll be working Christmas eve and Christmas day. So, yeah. I'm rowing this boat in the seat right behind you. I'll take mom out for a ride to look at Christmas lights and then stop for a nice dinner with her one night next week. That will be about it. I mailed gifts to my brother's family this morning. I won't even have my dog during Christmas.

I won't even see my mom or my son. They're in Ohio / PA. I need to shop around on Amazon and ship them something. My daughter wants to go out to eat either Sunday or Monday. Maybe that will give me a boost.

Sorry to hear that you won't have Libby. I know how much she means to you.

I agree with the grandchildren. Kinda put a new light on things for me.

I just have one gift left to buy... and my Christmas eve cruise to buy scratch off lottery tickets.

There is so much negative going on in the world right now... wars... terrorism... immigration and the list gets bigger. Let's not forget everything domestically. I won't list it... but the latest stat says it costs about 11K more a year for an average family to just survive then it did 3 years ago. That doesn't make for many happy people. I know it has affected me...

So... while I'm ready for it... other then my grandson... I'm not excited about it.

The commercialization side of Christmas has been a huge turn off for me a good number of years as it has been for a number of other holidays that decorating is the custom. I have no drive or desire to participate.

I have no problem with spending time with family and celebrating the holiday. I just don't see the point in expending the effort on the decorating. The girlfriend did express the desire to put the tree up this year and do something with it. So, I'll do that and let her have at it. But it really doesn't do anything for me.

The point about young children and making the holiday special for them has some merit. It just doesn't apply to me.

We share the same birthday Jim, we have a rule in my house… We can’t put the tree up until after my birthday.
I have it easy. My neighbor has a Christmas tree farm. I park my work truck in his parking lot, it’s actually closer to my back door than my driveway. We go over there every year and cut our own tree on the first Saturday after my birthday every year.
Here’s a pic of the tree farm from earlier this year.

Tree is up, what I have is wrapped and ready. Still waiting on one thing to come in yet.

Otherwise yeah, doesn't really feel like Christmas time.

Maybe because we are still getting Halloween kind of weather, hasn't even snowed yet.

Im not the fan of christmas that I used to be, if it wasnt for Brenda I wouldn’t bother at all, but she has 9 trees in the house (most are small) and 1 is a big live tree. All the christmas stuff takes up 1 room in the house the “other” 11 months. It was 54 and sunny here today, doesn’t feel like the holidays, and since stores start their christmas stuff in september-by the time december gets here I just want it to be over with. I still need to get stuff wrapped, usually I have it all done by thanksgiving so I can forget about it until “the day”. This year Ive been the least interested it all than Ive ever been.
Happy Birthday Jim, less than a month until mine, not too crazy about that day either.

Wow. No snow yet? There has been snow less than an hour drive from here several times already.

Menards is already putting the Christmas stuff away and rolling back into lawn furniture. I think it gets hard when you’re inundated with Christmas stuff from the second week of October through Thanksgiving and it’s all gone by the time the day actually arrives.

I traverse mall traffic on my way home from work every day and let me tell ya, I can’t wait for the holidays to be over by the time December 1 rolls around.

Cutently 42* with light rain. Been super dry, a lot of ponds are dry.

No snow here either. Southwestern PA has always been a bit of a crap shoot for snow around Christmas since the 1970's anyway. If recent history is any kind of indication, we'll get something on the drive home from Ohio after visiting family. Whether is sticks or stays is anyone's guess. Since we'll be in the "Mistake on the Lake" region for Christmas, there is a higher probability we'll see some there than at home.

@Jim Oaks ,
Secret to gaining Christmas spirit; wrap all the presents !!
