Koolaid. Crazy huh??

I use to love grape Koolaid. Haven't drank any in quite a while. Vanessa made some and put it in the fridge. I drank some and broke out in hives shirtly afterwards. I thought I was having a reaction to laundry detergent because I had put on a hoodie and broke out under my hoodie.

I took some allergy medicine and it went away. A little while ago I broke out again after drinking some Koolaid. I thought it seemed crazy, so I did a search online. Seems red food dye causes some people and kids to break out in hives. I looked at the grape Koolaid mix packet and it has Red 40 in it.

Damn.

I have a similar problem with Tang but I get a wicked headache from it. Still haven't figured it out but its the only thing that causes it.

I have the same thing going on. Found out a few years ago after I bought a Costco size jug of Red Vines and ended up giving the majority of them away. I love Red Vines.... mmm

At least you aren't allergic to gluten...

Gluten is a bad one. A guy in my class is allergic to it and he cant eat anything that's not homemade.

My mom can't have gluten either... Or soy or dairy, so she can't eat too many things...

This is weird. I made a flavored water with one of those little water packets with out any problems, but I looked and it lists red dye also ??

Maybe its something else in there. I'm certain that I've only broke out in hives after drinking the white Koolaid though.

Hmm I've never hear of anybody that can't drink kool-aide. The only think I can't handle is benadryl it makes me break out in hives and hilosinate really bad, atleast it did when I was younger too scared to try it again. I've considered going to the doctors to see if i really am, but i'm not worried if I stay away.
