Im 31 years old with mild autism / any fellow aspies here ?

My ex wife thought I was on the spectrum. But the (real) psychologist said no. I have a cousin who is. There are probably a bunch of us here who exhibit some traits of it. But aren't quite there.

Anyway, welcome to TRS.

I thought all the Asperger folks bought Mavericks?:D
The Maverick is fairly new. We got Sport Tracs.
I probably have mild Aspberger's. Photographic memory for certain things I read, especially cars and sports, and OCD about some things. The intake valve size on a 1969 Boss 302 is 2.23" but on a 1970 Boss 302 it is 2.19". I manage to function pretty normally.
For sure I have Non Verbal Learning Disorder (NVLD). Only recently learned it was a thing. This means I don't recognize non-verbal cues such as facial expressions and behaviors. If you think that hurts my relationships with women you'd be correct.

The Sport Trac is getting old, so you'll be moving on soon. What will your next truck be?
2020 Ranger. Sport Trac blew a head gasket two years ago. Wasn't worth fixing.

I consider myself a retarded artist.
Totally different thing.

But speaking of art, I am totally in awe of this young man and his skills with a camera. I have both of his books.

I think I got NVLD thing @JohnnyO was talking about. Same with random memory/OCD thing.

I would like to meet other autistic people here on this site that also own rangers.

Thank You,
Gary DuBois
I was never formally diagnosed as such, and have been tested for well above average intelligence. But I don't use hand gestures when I speak, tend to speak in a monotone, and don't understand the body language and non-verbal cues of others (especially their hand gestures), so I expect them to use plain, comprehensible English when they speak to me. And I definitely have mild OCD. In some ways, I'm like Monk, but without the badge. I think Wifey has remained married to me for 33 years because she either feels sorry for me, or because I am quite capable of keeping the Ranger running. Or BOTH. LOL!

Hi :) you can get formally diagnosed if you want too, thats good that you have above average intelligence, Your wifey doesn't feel sorry for you and she loves your ranger.

I had below average iq scores back in school, my dad says i sometimes tend to speak in a monotone way, and body language and non verbal cues can be challenging for me at times. My dad was born in illinois :)

I have a son who has been diagnosed as an Aspie. (12 years old)

it is highly likely I am on the spectrum as well, but I have not been formally diagnosed.

I also second the link that Eric posted on Anthony Schmidt. that is one talented young man

How is your son doing i hope he is doing good :) so he was born in 2011 ?

Do you feel like your autistic and do you want to be formally diagnosed.

Who is Anthony Schmidt ?

Who is Anthony Schmidt ?
Follow the link I posted above. He is a young, high functioning autistic boy who is interested in cars and does some amazing photography with a cell phone. He specializes in forced perspective- using model cars and props with real, life-size backgrounds. It makes it look like the models are real cars. I believe he is currently 14 yrs old. H has published 2 books and has been publishing calendars for a few years now. It’s well worth the time to read up on him and see his work. I follow him on Facebook.
